Meta Tag revisit-after

< Meta Name = "revisit-after"

The Revisit tag would tell the spider of a search engine to come back to your website and index it again. This meta tag was used by several North American search engines back in the ’90s.

Now, if you have a new blog or article on our website Google’s crawler will come by to index it automatically. But sometimes you just want to have the spider come by quicker. There are some tools to ask Google to re-crawl your site.

Key Takeaway

  1. Add a new sitemap.
You can do this by logging into your Google Search Console and upload a new sitemap.
  2. Fetch as Google.

If your site is fetchable (you can also check if it is displaying correctly) you can then submit for it to be added to Google’s index. This tool also allows you to submit a single URL (‘Crawl only this URL’) or the selected URL and any pages it links to directly (‘Crawl this URL and its direct links’).

  3. Fetch as Bing
    Works the same as Google.
